Jeffrey Court Renovation Challenge: WEEK TWO

If I’m being honest, life got in the way this past week and we got hardly anything done. We celebrated my youngest sons second birthday with family and friends on Sunday, his real birthday Saturday, and our anniversary Monday. It’s been one heck of a week. And I am exhausted!! I slept so much this week. Every chance I got to take a nap I did! Sooooo basically the Reno got pushed to the back seat. I didn’t want that to happen, but I couldn’t function and we needed a break lol.  This is real life DIY while raising a family! Sometimes you have to focus on your family/loved ones and push aside all projects for a bit.

This week I’m shifting gears. I want to talk about the design process so far, and share with you my vision board I created to help me with this project! Vision boards are 100% helpful. They allow you to see your items/things you want to use all together on a clean background. (For those people out there who HAVE to have a visual or don’t trust themselves during design, this is a MUST do.) I used the EASIEST app. It’s called Bazaart. Anyone can use this free app and create all the vision boards you could imagine.

For my design, I wanted to do something clean and simple. I wanted colors that were very plain so when my mind changes and I don’t love the colors I’ve chosen, I can easily switch them out. By painting, switching bathroom rugs, or shower curtains. That is why I went with a black and white MAIN design/tile. From there I built upon my design. I started with my “base” and worked my way out to other things such as lighting, wall colors, shelving, toilet paper holder, and washcloth holder! Slowly, everything comes together and it is the most exciting thing. It’s a way to get a glimpse into the end result and get you even more pumped/ready to get things done.

I didn’t want to totally give away my entire design, so I chose a few things that I knew would give you an idea, but kept some of the big items to myself. I did decide to show you all three tiles I’m going to be using from Jeffrey Court. If you haven’t checked out their tile line at Home Depot yet, you’re missing out and you need to jump on it. I can tell you from experience, it is high quality tile, perfect in every way, and comes exactly how it’s pictured on their website. 10/10 recommended.

Now time for the fun part, my design board:

This next week we are working on the tub, pocket door installation, and drywall!

I absolutely love my design and I can’t wait to watch it all come together, and for you to see it go from a photo, to real life. I’m so excited, and I hope you’re excited to see the finished design.

I LOVE DIY. Set backs and all. Here’s to week TWO!
